Pitch

One metal is my magazine aimed at the age range of 18-30. The audience will likely be white males that are mostly in education, or part of a band themselves.

It will cover all aspects of the heavy metal music genre from its history up to how it is today, covering changes in the genre and famous bands that have created milestones along the way. It will have a combination of interviews of musicians and famous fans of the magazine. The magazine will also provide updates for tours and new album releases, as well as reviewing them.

It will have a complex design that carries the feel of the genre, with dark, grungy illustrations.

The magazine will be heavily reliant on photography as I feel it is necessary for the genre.

Rock magazine Contents page analysis

The background of the contents page is filled with grey making it look grimy and dirty as well as making it look vintage. and the page has red accents that stand out and let the audience know which parts to look at first and they draw the eye.
The only image is dominating over the contents

Rock Magazines cover analysis

Rock magazines tend to be predominately red, black, grey and white. These have been chosen so that they appeal to the target audience of the magazine, with black being a dark colour to signify "rock" compared to a pop magazine that would usually be made up of bright colours to draw that specific audience. The mask head also tends to be covered up with the centre image, This shows the rebellious nature of the genre.

The style of the writing on the front the cover is very brief and aggressive which suggests the magazine doesn't have a young target audience.
