My magazine fits into the genre of Rock/Alternative which is a moderately popular genre of music for a magazine. It appears to be that the magazines fitting this genre tend to be more on a monthly basis rather than a weekly issuing, with an exception for Kerrang magazine. Therefore it seems that a low price weekly magazine would provide a alternative to the bigger, monthly magazines.
Because my potential audience base is often within the mid teens to late 20s, it seems to make sense that the magazine be of a lower price compared to its competitors that they may be able to pick up each week and not be out of pocket. The distribution would also have to be quite wide so it would also make sense to have the magazine distributed in corner shops as well as slightly more retail shops such as WHSmiths etc. Having the magazine distributed from smaller corner shops also enables the ability to have the Magazine delivered to the houses of the customers, a similar idea can be said for online distribution as well.
It would only make sense for the magazine to be available online as well as more than just a place to order a subscription as the digital availability of the magazine fits with the youthful audience who will almost always have access to the digital content as teenagers have an ever increasing presence online. Examples of ways that the magazine could be distributed online would to be a Mobile app for Android, Windows Phone and iOS. Other ways of having the magazine available would be through having the magazine available through online distributors such as Google Play Newsstand which allows subscriptions to a wide variety of magazine types such as Kerrang and Elle.
Considering the points I have made about my Magazine, I have decided that the best publisher for my magazine would be imagine Publishing (http://www.imagine-publishing.co.uk/) As they have a large range of magazine and website ownership and therefore are already a large scale publisher with both print popularity and digital distribution. They are also not afraid to try out new technologies when it comes to enterprise as they have recently developed an app for the Brand New Apple Watch Already. this would assure that my magazine would have the largest audience reach possible.
Independent Publishing many, many magazines covering a range of topics such as computing, gaming, history and science. this could be good for my magazine as the magazines are aimed more towards the teenage age bracket, that would mean that potentially current Imagine Publishing Customers would be interested in my magazine.
