Defending Of Avian

This has certainly been an eventful year for the revolutionary hard rock bad boys, defending of Avian. Their first tour around the globe was one of the biggest in recent history with all shows from Albuquerque to Amsterdam showcasing the band’s second album, Songs of a tell-tale Heart, Homage to the depressed romantic styles of Edgar Allen Poe.

The album has been named a rock opera by critics, but has been called a concept album by Adrian Morgan, the band’s front man and vocalist. In an interview, Adrian stated he wanted the band’s movement to move away from the general scheme of what Hard rock is perceived to be, and he believes that the inspiration of the romanticism of Poe’s poetry allows them to show the true emotions of what Hard rock is. Many critics have stated that the album is too macabre for the general populace and that the circles of Poe’s fans and Rock fans don’t often overlap, however, Adrian was quick to challenge this by stating that “The beauty of Poe’s work is universal, if you find it too depressing, you must remember how tormented he was when he wrote it.”

Adrian then goes on to state that poetry and music were two of his favourite things when he was a child, and although he couldn’t play any instruments, his parents pushed him to pursue what he loved. “Edgar Allen Poe was my Favourite poet in secondary school as his work not only shocked me, but made me appreciate the fact that I had many friends and a loving family when I was growing up, and that’s what the band wants to achieve with this album”

The tour has yet to be concluded with it being about three quarters of the way through, just a handful of cities remain, with the “final act” being in their home city of Cardiff.
"The Whole experience has been magical for us, seeing the fans all there in front of us, it is incredibly humbling"
